Molasses Popcorn Balls Recipe

  1. Mix first six ingredients in large saucepan; place on low heat and stir till sugar is dissolved.
  2. Bring to boiling point and cook slowly till a small amount dropped in cool water forms soft ball.
  3. Add in butter and continue to cook to hard ball stage.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add in vanilla and pour slowly over popcorn.
  6. Mix with wooden spoon.
  7. Form into balls about 2 1/2 inch in diameter.
  8. Yield: approximately 24.
