Toffee Almond Bar

  1. Preheat oven to 350F Grease the SIDES ONLY of a 9x13 pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until smooth.
  3. Gradually mix in flour until smooth.
  4. Press into bottom of pan.
  5. Bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
  6. Meanwhile, add toffee bits and molasses to a 2 litre saucepan.
  7. Cook over medium heat until toffee is completely melted.
  8. Stir constantly.
  9. Stir in half of the almonds and coconut.
  10. Mix well.
  11. Spread over the crust within 1/4-inch of the edge.
  12. Do not touch the edge.
  13. Sprinkle the remaining almonds and coconut over the top.
  14. Bake an additional 15 minutes, or until bubbly.
  15. Cool on rack.
  16. Cut into bars when still slightly warm, but not hot.
