Beer Fried Chicken
- 1 whole chicken, cut up 10 pieces
- 1 cup beer, cold Sapporo premium
- 12 cup Kikkoman soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons ginger powder
- 12 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 eggs
- ice cold water
- oil
- Mix together the beer, soy sauce, oils, salt, sugar, ginger and pepper and pour over the chicken pieces and cover and into the refrigerator overnight.
- In a mixing bowl add flour, cornstarch and baking powder.
- Blend in egg and cold water to fold a batter.
- Dip the chicken piece into batter and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer to 360 and fry to a golden brown.
