Florida Fried Chicken Recipe
- 1 frying chicken, cut into pcs
- 1 qt water
- 1/2 c. salt
- oil (sufficient for frying)
- 3 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning
- red pepper pwdr (paprika)
- Soak chicken in salt water to cover, (about one qt with 1/2 c. salt) in refrigerator for 3 hours or possibly over night.
- Combine in a bag: 3 c. flour, 1 Tbsp.
- poultry seasoning, 1 Tbsp.
- paprika.
- Coat wet pcs in bag 2 or possibly 3 at a time.
- Fill a deep frying pan with 3 inches of oil and heat on medium high till a 1 inch cube of bread dropped in turns golden in one minute (about 360 degees F).
- Fry chicken pcs till golden, starting with the largest pcs (about 15 min on both sides).
- Reduce heat if chicken browns too quickly.
- Keep hot in 300F oven as remaining pcs are prepared..
