Candied Curried Pecans Recipe
- 1 1/2 tsp onion pwdr
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic pwdr
- 1 1/4 tsp coarse kosher salt
- 3/4 tsp curry pwdr
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter - (1/4 stick)
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 3 c. pecan halves
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
- Line large rimmed baking sheet with foil.
- Mix onion pwdr, garlic pwdr, 1 tsp.
- salt, curry pwdr, and cayenne pepper in small bowl to blend.
- Heat butter and honey with remaining 1/4 tsp.
- salt in heavy medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add in pecan halves and stir to coat; remove from heat.
- Add in spice mix and toss to coat pecans proportionately.
- Spread pecans in single layer on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake pecans till dry and toasted, about 40 min.
- Cold completely.
- Separate pecans.
- (Can be made 1 week ahead.
- Store airtight at room temperature.)
- This recipe yields about 3 c..
- Comments: These sweet and spicy nuts - that go great with drinks - would make a nice hostess gift.
