No-Fry Chocolatety Apple Beignets
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cut into 1/2-inch cubes King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.87 thru 02/09
- 1/4 cup icing sugar, divided
- 4 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 2 pkg. (235g each) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Cook apples and 2 Tbsp.
- of the sugar in small saucepan 7 min.
- or until apples are tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Spoon into bowl.
- Add chocolate; mix well.
- Gently separate dough into 16 triangles.
- Place 2 tsp.
- apple mixture in centre of each triangle.
- Fold triangle into packet to enclose filling; seal seams by pressing edges of dough together with fingertips.
- Place on baking sheet.
- Repeat for each triangle.
- Bake 10 min.
- or until golden brown.
- Transfer to plate.
- Sprinkle with remaining 2 Tbsp.
- icing sugar.
- Serve warm.
