Grandma Ada'S Orange Rolls(Yields 24 Rolls)
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water (115~)
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. grated orange rind
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- With electric mixer add 1/4 cup of the sugar, salt, eggs, sour cream and 6 tablespoons melted butter to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add 1 1/2 cups flour.
- Beat until smooth.
- Knead in rest of flour.
- Let rise until doubled, 2 to 3 hours.
- Knead until smooth 1 minute.
- Divide dough in half. Roll 1/2 of dough into a 12-inch circle.
- Combine remaining 3/4 cup sugar and orange rind.
- Brush dough with 1 tablespoon melted butter and sprinkle with 1/2 of sugar mix.
- Cut 12 pie shaped pieces. Roll from wide end to point, forming a crescent.
- Repeat with remaining dough.
- Place point side down in rows in a large rectangular pan.
- Cover and let rise 1 hour.
- Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 20 minutes.
- Pour warm topping over immediately.
