Bestest Buttercream Icing
- 2 lbs shifted powdered sugar
- 12 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 12 cups solid shortening
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 13 cup water, for icing (decorations) or 14 cup water, for stiff (decorations)
- 14 teaspoon almond extract
- milk
- Cream shortening and butter together at med speed.
- Add extracts.
- Slowly add powdered sugar a cup or so at a time.
- Alternate with water.
- Continue to mix at med speed until light and fluffy.
- Add milk a tsp at a time until the desired stiffness.
- Can also play with the flavorings.
- Add more vanilla or almond, even butter flavored.
- (I love it creamier with milk and extra vanilla).
- Will keep in frig for up to 2 weeks in airtight container.
