Sloppy Joe Stuffed Peppers

  1. If making your own Sloppy Joe seasoning, mix the chili powder, garlic salt and onion powder in a small bowl.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  4. Put the bell peppers on a rimmed sheet pan.
  5. Roast the bell peppers in the oven until just charred, roughly 15-20 minutes, turning them halfway through.
  6. Remove pan from the oven and set it on a rack.
  7. Let the peppers cool before stuffing them, about ten minutes.
  8. Keep the oven on.
  9. While you are roasting the peppers, put the turkey into a skillet over medium heat.
  10. Once the turkey is browned and broken up, add the tomato paste and the sloppy Joe seasoning and mix to combine.
  11. Cut off the tops of the peppers and clean out the seeds.
  12. Then stuff the peppers with the turkey mixture and put them into a baking dish, standing up.
  13. Put the cheese on top.
  14. Bake at 375 F for twelve minutes.
