Hearty Lentil Sausage Soup Recipe

  1. Cook onions, garlic and parsnips in drippings for 5 min.
  2. Break up sausage in 5 qt kettle, cooking till browned.
  3. Remove meat and pour off all but 1/4 c. drippings.
  4. Cook next 3 ingredients in these drippings, then add in meat and all other items, simmering 45 min.
  5. To serve, place a slice of crusty bread in each bowl and spoon soup over top.
  6. Freezes well!
