German-Style Spinach
- 2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 12 cups chopped raw spinach
- 1 12 tablespoons flour
- 34 cup hot water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 12 teaspoons vinegar
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 1 hard-boiled egg, sliced
- Combine bacon and spinach.
- Add flour to bacon drippings and blend well.
- Add hot water; cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly.
- Add sugar, vinegar and seasonings; pour over spinach.
- Stir well until wilted.
- Garnish with slices of hard cooked egg.
