  1. TIP : I don't use a commercial jalapeno spice mix.
  2. I use pure jalapeno powder.
  3. If you have trouble finding it, here is a recipe for making your own.
  4. Combine all the ingredients except the nuts in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds or until butter is melted.
  5. Stir to combine.
  6. In a separate bowl, add the nuts and the pour the butter mixture over top the nuts.
  7. Stir to coat the nuts completely.
  8. Bring your smoker up to 250F per the manufactures instructions and add some hickory wood chips.
  9. Place the coated almonds and pecans on a small baking sheet and pop in the smoker for 30-40 minutes.
  10. Halfway through the cooking process, remove the nuts from the smoker and give them a stir.
  11. Remove from the smoker and let cool for 10 minutes.
  12. Add additional salt if needed.
  13. Serve to your BBQ guests.
