Grandma Ticky's Chocolate Icebox Dessert Recipe
- 4 bars German chocolate (sweet)
- 10 Large eggs, separated
- 2 boxes vanilla wafers
- 3 tbsp. powdered sugar
- 4 tbsp. warm water
- Layer 9x9 inch pan with wafers.
- Heat chocolate slowly in double boiler.
- As soon as chocolate is melted add in egg yolks one at a time.
- Add in warm water after egg yolks are in.
- Add in powdered sugar.
- Beat egg whites in large bowl.
- Add in chocolate mix slowly folding into egg whites.
- If mix gets stiff, add in a little water.
- (Folding means rolling egg whites over - not stirring.)
- Pour 1/3 of mix over wafers.
- Add in another layer of wafers plus 1/3 mix till wafers end up on top.
- Chill.
- Serve with whipped cream.
