Chicken Romaine Recipe
- 3 pound chicken, floured
- 3 tbsp. shortening
- 1 med. onion, sliced
- 1 lg. clove garlic, chopped
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry basil, crushed
- Dash warm pepper sauce
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 2 ounce. shredded Swiss cheese
- Warm buttered noodles
- Brown chicken in shortening.
- Combine onion, garlic, salt, basil, pepper sauce, soup and 1 c. water.
- Pour over chicken.
- Simmer, covered 40 min.
- Add in celery, cook about 15 min (till tender).
- Stir in 1/2 of cheese; sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
- Serve over noodles.
- Serves 4.
