Apple Trifle Recipe

  1. Cook apples in water till almost tender.
  2. Add in brown sugar, butter and cinnamon; continue cooking till sugar is melted and apples are done.
  3. Split lady fingers; spread one half with preserves and top with second half.
  4. Layer filled lady fingers and apples in deep 3-qt serving dish, reserving a few lady fingers for the top.
  5. Prepare pudding mix according to package directions using 3-1/2 c. lowfat milk; stir in sherry.
  6. Pour pudding over lady fingers and apples.
  7. Top with reserved lady fingers and almonds.
  8. Sprinkle with nutmeg and refrigerateat least 1 hour.
  9. Makes 6-8 servings.
