Luscious Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 4 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 c. shortening
- Sift together dry ingredients.
- Cut in shortening with a fork or possibly pastry blender.
- Beat 2 Large eggs.
- Blend in 1/2 c. lowfat milk.
- Add in all at once to flour mix.
- Stir just till all the flour is moistened.
- Spread proportionately in a well greased 8" round pan.
- Bake in a very warm oven, 450 degrees, till the short cake is crusty and golden, 15 to 20 min.
- Can be cut into biscuits.
- Makes about 30.
