New Orleans Barbecued Shrimp

  1. Melt butter in a Dutch oven.
  2. Except for the shrimp, add remaining ingredients.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce boils.
  4. Reduce heat to low; simmer 8 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Let stand, uncovered, at least 30 minutes.
  7. About 20 minutes before serving, add shrimp and cook over medium heat to 6 to 8 minutes until shrimp turn pink.
  8. Bake 10 minutes in a preheated 450u0b0 oven. Ladle shrimp and sauce into bowls and serve with plenty of crusty French bread for dipping into the sauce.
