Venison Swiss Steak Recipe
- 2 pound venison steaks
- 1 c. minced onion
- 1 stick butter
- 1 pkg. Mrs. Grass Onion Mushroom Soup Mix
- 1 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tbsp. pepper
- 1 tbsp. garlic pwdr
- 1 tbsp. onion pwdr
- Make a flour mix with the flour, salt, pepper, garlic and onion pwdr.
- Cover the venison before cooking with the flour mix.
- Heat 1/2 the butter with the onion in a fry pan and brown all of the floured meat in this pan (you may add in more butter as needed).
- Place browned meat in a casserole dish.
- Sprinkle meat with soup mix, then add in the water so meat is covered.
- Bake at slow temperature (275 degrees) several hrs.
- The longer it bakes the better it is.
