Mom's Favorite Lasagna
- 34 lb bulk Italian sausage
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 4 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 (1 1/2 ounce) package spaghetti sauce mix
- 34 lb ground beef
- 12 cup onion, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups cream-style cottage cheese
- 1 cup water
- Brown sausage and hamburger with onion and garlic in large frying pan; drain.
- Stir in tomato sauce, water and spaghetti sauce mix.
- Simmer 30 minutes or until slightly thickened.
- While sauce cooks, boil lasagna noodles.
- adding a tablespoon of oil to the water to prevent sticking.
- In large bowl, beat eggs slightly; mix in cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese.
- Line bottom of 9x13 baking pan with a layer of drained noodles.
- Cover with 1/3 of the meat mixture and 1/3 of the cheese mixture.
- Repeat to make 2 more layers of each, ending with the cheese mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
