Shio-Kombu and Cheese with Chikuwa Drinking Appetizer

  1. Cut the chikuwa lengthwise in half.
  2. Roll up with the brown side inside, and secure with a toothpick.
  3. Top with cheese and shio-kombu.
  4. Broil in a toaster oven until the cheese is melted.
  5. Here's another version, with the chikuwa cut vertically in half.
