Cedar Plank Salmon on the BBQ

  1. Here are a few important tips for grilling on a cedar plank:

  3. Make sure you soak the plank in water for at least an hour.
  4. 2.
  5. Dont put it over a direct flame on the grill.
  6. I did that the first time and it wasnt pretty.
  7. 3.
  8. Cook over indirect heat and youll be able to use the plank more than once.
  9. Heat the two ends of the grill to medium heat but leave the center section off.
  10. Put salmon on the water-soaked cedar plank.
  11. Drizzle with a little olive oil and generously season.
  12. Place plank over the indirect heat on the grill.
  13. Remember M-O-M (medium-off-medium).
  14. It will cook fairly quickly.
  15. Just keep an eye on it because you dont want to overcook.
  16. It should take around 12-18 minutes depending on the size and thickness of the salmon fillet.
  17. Serve with fresh lemon slices and arugula.
