Sweet Tea Brined Ribs

  1. In a small saucepan combine all ingredients except for ribs and garlic powder.
  2. Heat over medium high heat until sugar and salt is dissolved.
  3. Cool completely or add ice cubes to chill brine.
  4. Put ribs in ziplock bag.
  5. Pour sweet tea brine over ribs.
  6. Squeeze as much air out of bag as possible.
  7. Refrigerate for 24-72 hours.
  8. *The longer it brines, the stronger the taste.

  10. Remove ribs from brine and blot excess liquid off with papertowels.
  11. Disgard the brine.
  12. Season very liberally with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  13. Wrap tightly in foil, place meaty side down on baking sheet/roasting pan.
  14. Cook for 2 hours at 300F.
  15. Open foil packet and lay ribs meaty side up.
  16. At this point you can slather on some of your favorite bbq sauce.
  17. Put back in oven for 5 mins.
  18. Slice and enjoy!
