Angel Cookies

  1. Beat eggs with a fork til well mixed.
  2. Dissolve baking soda in warm water.
  3. Add sugar, salt, and baking soda water to eggs.
  4. Mix solid shortning and 3 cups of flour together.
  5. Add liquid to flour mixture and mix well.
  6. Knead in enough of the remaining flour to make a stiff dough.
  7. Chill dough.
  8. The dough can be refrigerated for several days.
  9. Roll dough very thin using plenty of the additional flour to keep dough from sticking.
  10. Cut with cookie cutters and bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes on UNGREASED cookie sheets.
  11. They should just be starting to brown around the edges.
  12. Recipe includes mixing time.
  13. Chill time and rolling/cutting out time not included.
