Brown Beef Stew Recipe
- 500 gm fillet of beef
- 1 tsp thick soy sauce
- 1 x beef cube
- 2 x cm cinnamon stick
- 1 x star anise
- 4 x cloves
- 2 lrg onions
- 400 gm potatoes - quartered
- 2 x carrots - cut diagonally
- 1/2 c. green peas
- 3 tsp flour
- 1 x salt and pepper according to taste
- Method1.
- Slice beef and marinate with salt, pepper and thick soy sauce for 10 min.
- Sprinkle flour to coat beef.
- 2.
- Heat oil and fry cinnamon stick, star anise, cloves and onions.
- Add marinated beef and fry for another three min to seal in the flavours and nutrients of the beef.
- 3.
- Add in beef cube, potatoes and carrots, and 1 pint of water.
- Simmer over low heat till potato is tender and gravy thickens.
- Add green peas.
