Breaded Tofu Cutlets with Tartar Sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 450F.
  2. Cut tofu into 1/2-inch-thick slices.
  3. Blot well between several layers of paper towel, then cut lengthwise into 1/2-inch-wide strips.
  4. In shallow bowl, mix wheat germ, seasoning mix and salt.
  5. Add tofu sticks and coat with mixture.
  6. Arrange breaded tofu on a lightly oiled nonstick baking sheet.
  7. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until the cutlets are golden and firm.
  8. Meanwhile, make tartar sauce.
  9. In small bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well.
  10. Set aside.
  11. Serve cutlets warm with sauce as a topping or on the side.
