Bread And Butter Pickle (My Mother's Recipe) Recipe

  1. Slice cucumbers, peppers, and onions; put in a large pan and cover with salt and water.
  2. Put ice cubes over this and let stand for 3 hrs.
  3. Drain and rinse.
  4. Mix vinegar, sugar, spices and garlic (minced); pour this mix over the vegetables.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Boil one minute.
  7. Remove from heat and pack into sterile jars.
  8. Seal.
  9. Yield about 12 pints.
