THE Best Jalapeno Popper Ever!!
- 20 big jalapenos
- 16 ounces cream cheese
- 1 lb bacon, thin sliced
- 8 ounces barbecue sauce
- Slice peppers in half lengthwise.
- remove seeds and membrane, or leave some in for more heat.
- A spoon works well.
- slice block of cream cheese in half lengthwise, slice into pats.
- Form each pat into a football and place inside pepper half.
- This method works better than smearing IMO.
- cut package of bacon in half, wrap each popper with 1/2 piece of bacon.
- grill over indirect heat, direct heat they will burn easily.
- These can also go in the oven, 325 about an hour.
- the last few minutes of cooking brush with your favorite sweet barbecue sauce (optional).
- I like the pepper to cook down also, not crunchy green.
- Seems the longer they cook the better they are, especially when cooking low and slow.
- 1 hour cook time typical.
- SOOO WORTH THE WAIT!
