Low-Fat Hamburgers
- 1/2 lb. ground turkey
- 1/2 lb. extra lean ground beef
- 1/4 c. fine bread crumbs or matzo meal
- 1/4 c. grated or finely chopped onion
- 1 egg white, beaten with 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. salt free seasoning blend
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp. fresh ground pepper
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 slices of tomato
- 2 tsp. relish
- Preheat grill or broiler.
- In a large bowl, combine meats, bread crumbs, onion, egg white and seasonings.
- Form into 4 patties.
- Grill over charcoal or broil in oven for approximately 3 minutes on each side or to taste.
- Serve on hamburger buns, adding lettuce, tomato and 1/2 teaspoon relish to each burger.
