Sour Cream, Carmel, Cream Cheese Apple Pie
- 1 can Apple pie filling of your choice. I sometimes find canned pie filling can be lacking in flavor, so I add some additional things.
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional only if canned filling seems bland to you.)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional only if you find canned to be bland.)
- 1 box 8 ounce of cream cheese softened to room temp.
- 2 tbsp Sour cream
- 2 tbsp butter (optional) I didn't use any in this photo.
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar. May add more So mixture is nice and easy to spread.
- 1 tbsp a few tablespoons of Carmel to drizzle over Apple filling before baking. how much is up to your liking.
- 1 pie shell of your choice
- 1 Coconut sugar, or brown sugar to sprinkle over the top before chilling.
- Preheat oven to indicated time recommended according to the pie crust you're using.
- Place Apple filling into desired pie shell of your choice.
- Drizzle desired amount of Carmel.
- Bake pie without cream cheese mixture
- Mix well, cream cheese, butter& sour cream, and sift in powdered sugar until well blended.
- Set aside until pie is cooked.
- When pie has cooled, but is still a bit warm spoon mixture over Apple filling, gently spreading with a spatula until entire pie is covered.
- Lightly sprinkle with coconut sugar or brown sugar.
- Chill for one hour for easier serving.
