Apple Corn Bread Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Oil a 10-inch iron skillet and heat in oven.
  3. Peel apple and cut into very thin pcs of any size.
  4. In a large bowl, combine all remaining ingredients and then add in apple.
  5. Don't overmix.
  6. Pour into heated iron skillet (or possibly just oil a regular casserole pan), and bake 35-45 min on the top shelf.
  7. When an inserted knife comes out clean, it's done.
  8. This recipe is very moist, but not soggy.
  9. If you're not interested in having a fat-free dish, add in a 3 Tbsp.
  10. of canola oil to improve the flavor a little bit.
  11. Also, flavored applesauce works well.
  12. * If blue cornbread is unavailable, use the regular yellow variety.
