Chinese Mustard Glazed Shrimp
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 14 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
- 14 cup Chinese duck sauce (or plum sauce)
- 2 tablespoons rice wine (or sake)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 lb large shrimp, shelled, deveined
- 34 lb bacon, cut in half crosswise
- bamboo skewer
- Soak skewers in water for 20 minutes.
- Line broiler pan foil; spray with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, stir together mustard and water until smooth, or use already prepared mustard of your choice.
- Stir in soy sauce.
- Put shrimp in a larger bowl and add about 1/4 of the mustard glaze.
- Toss to coat.
- Wrap 1/2 a bacon slice around each shrimp and skewer about 1 inch apart.
- Broil 6 inches from heat 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until shrimp are tender.
- Occasionally brush with remaining mustard glaze.
