Steamed vegetables with crispy Iberian ham
- 3 carrots
- 3 small onions
- 1 bunch tender garlic shoots
- 3 artichokes
- a few french beans
- a few thin slices Iberian ham
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive pil
- Fill half of the bottom pan with water and put the washed and sliced onions and garlics in.
- Add a pinch of salt, cover and bring to the boil for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile wash and cut the other veg and put in the top steamer.
- Take the lid of the pan with the onions, cover with the steamer, put the lid on amd continue over a high heat for another ten minutes.
- By which time contents of both pans will look like this.
- Strain the water into a container
- You can use it as a delicious oniony stock for a future soup, stew or gravy
- Heat a grill or non-stick pan and place the ham slices inside.
- After 2 minutes over a high heat turn them over to crisp them up
- Arrange the vegetables on a large serving plate.
- Cut the ham into crispy bits
- Drizzle with olive oil and soy sauce.
- Enjoy!
