Best Ever Gingersnaps Recipe

  1. Combine sugar, flour, salt, soda and spices; stir lightly.
  2. Cut in shortening to resemble coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in molasses and egg.
  4. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
  5. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min.
  7. Remove from baking sheet immediately.
  8. Yields 4 1/2 dozen.
