Tamarind-Strawberry Punch
- 1 pkg. (14 oz.) frozen tamarind pulp, thawed
- 1-1/2 qt. (6 cups) water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 Granny Smith apples, chopped (about 4 cups)
- 1/2 lb. guavas (about 8 small), stemmed, halved
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 navel orange, cut crosswise in half
- KOOL-AID Strawberry Flavor Sugar-Sweetened Drink Mix, measured to 2-qt. line in cap (about 1/2 cup)
- Mix tamarind and water in large saucepan.
- Add cinnamon stick; bring to boil on medium-high heat.
- Add apples, guavas and cranberries; stir.
- Cook 5 min.
- or until fruit is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat; remove and discard cinnamon stick.
- Squeeze juice from 1 orange half.
- Add to tamarind mixture with drink mix; stir until mix is dissolved.
- Cut remaining orange half into 10 slices.
- Use to garnish punch.
