Great Grandmother's Holiday Peanut Butter Roll Recipe
- 2 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. white syrup
- 1/2 c. cool water
- 2 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Peanut butter
- Combine sugar, syrup and water and cook till hard ball forms when tested in cool water.
- Beat egg whites till stiff, pour half of syrup mix over egg whites, beating continuously.
- Put rest of syrup mix back on stove and cook till forms hard ball when tested in cool water.
- Pour over the egg mix and beat till hard sufficient to roll out.
- Roll about 1/4 inch thick and spread with peanut butter, then roll up like a jelly roll.
- Slice and serve.
