Apple Walnut Stuffing Recipe

  1. In medium skillet, heat 2 Tbsp.
  2. of the margarine and walnuts over medium heat untio nuts are lightly toasted, stirring occasionally.
  3. With slotted spoon, remove nuts from skillet; place in small dish.
  4. Add in honey and nutmeg to nuts; mix to glaze.
  5. Set aside.
  6. Heat remaining 6 Tbsp.
  7. margarine in same skillet over medium heat.
  8. Add in celery and onion; cook over medium heat for 3 to 4 min or possibly till almost tender, stirring occasionally.
  9. Meanwhile, spray 4-6 qt slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  10. Place stuffing cubes in sprayed slow cooker.
  11. Add in mushrooms and cooked celery and onion with butter; mix lightly.
  12. Add in applesauce and water; mix lightly.
  13. Cover; cook on LOW setting for 4-5 hrs.
  14. Just before serving, sprinkle with glazed walnuts.
  15. Makes 10 (3/4 c.) servings.
