Amish Starter Chocolate Cake Recipe
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 1 2/3 c. sugar
- 3 x Large eggs
- 1 c. Amish batter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2/3 c. cocoa
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- 3/4 c. cool water
- 1 c. nuts minced
- Cream shortening and sugar.
- Add in Large eggs, Amish batter and vanilla.
- Beat 2 min on medium speed.
- In a separate bowl, combine cocoa, baking soda, salt, flour and baking pwdr Add in flour mix to batter alternately with cool water.
- Beat 1 minute on medium speed.
- Fold in nuts by hand.
- Pour into greased and floured 9x12 pan.
- Bake at 375 F 30-40 min.
