Butterbean Casserole Or Baked Lima Beans Recipe

  1. Liquid removed and rinse beans with cool water and liquid removed again.
  2. Reserve butter beans.
  3. Saute/fry' onions, peppers and celery in butter and bacon drippings over low heat till soft.
  4. Add in garlic (optional), tomato sauce, paprika, sugar, salt and black pepper.
  5. Simmer for 10 min.
  6. Combine beans and sauce mix in a 9x13 baking dish or possibly pan.
  7. Bake at 350 Degrees F. for about 25 min.
  8. Add in Topping: Top with the grated cheese.
  9. Cover with crumbled Ritz cracker crumbs.
  10. Drizzle with melted butter.
  11. Bake at 350 Degrees F. till sauce thickens and topping is golden-about 20 more min.
