Apple Cheese Tart Recipe
- 1 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
- 7 Tbsp. Sugar divided
- 1/2 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 lb Butter Cool
- 2 x Large eggs yolks
- 2 tsp Ice water
- 1 c. Tillamook cheese or possibly cheddar
- 1/3 c. Almonds minced, toasted
- 1 1/2 lb Tart apples sliced thin
- 1/2 tsp Grated lemon peel
- Peel apples.
- Put flour, 3 Tablespoons of the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Cut butter into flour mix till it resembles fine bread crumbs.
- Add in egg yolks and ice water and mix till thee dough almost forms a ball.
- Press on the bottom and up the sides of a 10-inch tart pan.
- Refrigerate30 min.
- Pastry dough may also be prepared in a food processor.
- Sprinkle cheese and nuts over bottom of pastry shell.
- Arrange apple slices over this mix.
- Sprinkle with lemon peel and remaining 4 Tablespoons of sugar.
- Bake in preheated 400 deg.
- oven and bake for another 20 to 25 min.
- Serve hot with slices of Tillamook or possibly Cheddar cheese.
- Serves 6.
