Treasure Chest Bars
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or stick margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, cut up
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- cherry juice
- Sift dry ingredients.
- Set aside.
- Cream together brown and white sugars and butter.
- Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
- Drain cherries, saving juice.
- Add nuts, chocolate chips and cherries.
- Bake in jelly roll pan at 325u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- Make frosting with powdered sugar and cherry juice.
- Frost while still warm.
