Bloody Berry
- 4 cups hulled, chopped strawberries
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup peeled and coarsely chopped fresh ginger
- 12 Thai bird chiles, split
- Puree strawberries and lime juice in blender until smooth.
- Strain through fine sieve, and discard seeds.
- Bring sugar, ginger, chiles, and 2 cups water to a boil in small saucepan.
- Reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring until sugar has dissolved.
- Remove from heat, let stand 10 minutes, then strain, and discard solids.
- Cool.
- Whisk strawberry-lime juice and sugar mixture together in pitcher.
- Serve over ice.
