Pita Bread (Pocket Bread)

  1. Combine ingredients in a bowl.
  2. When the consistency of the dough becomes even, sprinkle some flour on a clean work surface and knead for about 20 minutes.
  3. Place in a warm spot to rise.
  4. When the dough doubles in size, return it to the kneading surface, deflate it, and divide it into 6 pieces.
  5. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
  6. Cover with a dry cloth.
  7. Roll into 15 cm width circles.
  8. Bake in oven preheated to 210C for 7 to 8 minutes.
  9. The dough will puff up as shown in the photo.
  10. Once they cool down, cut them in half.
  11. Spread with butter and fill with vegetables, ham, cheese, or any other filling of your choice, and serve.
