Turkish Fruit Butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- chopped fruit
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 pinch ground cloves
- Combine 3/4 cups sugar, 1 cup water and chopped fruit in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
- When fruit is tender, cool slightly and puree.
- Cook off liquid, stirring, up to 2 hours.
- Add 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg and a pinch of ground cloves.
- When thick, cool and serve.
