Chicken with Sweet and Spicy Barbecue Sauce

  1. Combine first 8 ingredients in heavy medium saucepan.
  2. Simmer 15 minutes to blend flavors.
  3. Season with pepper.
  4. (Can be made 2 days ahead.
  5. Cover; chill.)
  6. Preheat oven to 375F.
  7. Arrange chicken in single layer in large baking pan.
  8. Brush with some sauce.
  9. Roast until cooked through, basting occasionally with sauce, about 1 hour.
  10. Serve hot or at room temperature.
