Biscotti {Mandel Bread}
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 6 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 x salt to taste
- 1 x lemon zest
- 1 x star anise
- 1 x liqueur anise flavor
- 1 x flour, all-purpose
- INSTRUCTIONS:In a large mixing bowl mix the eggs, sugar oil, baking powder, salt, lemon, anise seed, three shots antisette, mix well.
- Add flour in a little at a time until the mixture is a consistency that you can knead and shape.
- Shape as a low oval loaf of bread and bake in a preheated oven at 400F (200C) until almost done.
- About 20 minutes.
- Take out of oven and slice in about 1/2 inch slices.
- Turn oven up to 450 Fand brown on both sides until the desired color is reached.
- Hazelnuts or sliced almonds optional additions.
