Lower Fat Whole Wheat Brownies

  1. Mix applesauce, sugar, whole eggs, egg whites and vanilla in a large bowl.
  2. In a seperate bowl mix togeather whole wheat flour, cocoa powder and salt.
  3. Add the flour mixture to the applesauce mixture and stir well to combine.
  4. Pour into a greased 13" x 9" pan.
  5. Bake at 325 degrees for 27-37 minutes or until the middle is set.
  6. Let cool.
  7. For the frosting- combine all ingredients in a medium size bowl and beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  8. Spread on cooled brownies.
