Lower Fat Whole Wheat Brownies
- 12 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 whole eggs
- 2 egg whites
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 12 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, plus
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 cup butter, softened
- 2 12 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 14 cup black coffee
- 14 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Mix applesauce, sugar, whole eggs, egg whites and vanilla in a large bowl.
- In a seperate bowl mix togeather whole wheat flour, cocoa powder and salt.
- Add the flour mixture to the applesauce mixture and stir well to combine.
- Pour into a greased 13" x 9" pan.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 27-37 minutes or until the middle is set.
- Let cool.
- For the frosting- combine all ingredients in a medium size bowl and beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Spread on cooled brownies.
