Easy and Delicious Sweet Potato Sticks
- 200 grams Sweet potato
- 100 grams Cake flour
- 30 grams Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 30 grams Butter or margarine
- 1 as much (to taste) Sesame seeds
- Peel the sweet potatoes.
- Chop them up and boil for 7 to 10 minutes over medium heat.
- Alternatively, you could steam them in a steamer.
- Put all ingredients into a bowl.
- Mix in swirling motion with a whisk.
- Continue until the lumps of flour become a negligible size.
- Melt butter in microwave - 30 seconds at 500 W. Drain the sweet potatoes and smash it up with a mortar and pestle until smooth.
- Take the bowl from Step 2, add the mashed sweet potatoes, butter, and sesame seeds.
- Knead well.
- When nice and smooth, divide into two portions.
- Transfer onto a well-dusted working surface.
- Take one portion and roll it out into a narrow strip.
- Flatten with a rolling pin.
- The ideal thickness is 3 mm.
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- Slice the potato into strips about 3 mm in width.
- Align onto a baking tray and bake for 18 to 20 minutes at 180C.
- It's done when the two ends are golden brown.
- Take out and serve immediately!
