Gooseberry Pie
- 1 double crust pie crust, for a 2 crust pie
- 4 cups gooseberries
- 2 cups sugar
- 14 cup flour
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 dash salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Prepare pie pastry and put into pie plate.
- Prehat oven to 350 degrees.
- Put gooseberries and sugar in pan and mash with potato masher until juicy.
- Cook on top of stove until hot.
- Add flour and salt and cook for about 5 minutes more.
- Turn into pastry lined pan and dot with butter.
- Add top crust and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake 30 to 40 minutes until top crust is browned nicely.
