Maple Walnut Fudge

  1. Chop 1/2 cup nuts, set aside remaining whole nuts for garnish.
  2. Line 9-inch square pan with foil or parchment, with ends of foil extending over sides; spray with cooking spray.
  3. Cook chocolate and milk in large heavy saucepan on low heat 3 to 5 min.
  4. or until chocolate melts, stirring frequently.
  5. Add sugar and corn syrup; stir until blended.
  6. Bring to boil on medium heat, stirring constantly.
  7. Cook on medium heat until mixture reaches 234 degrees F on candy thermometer, stirring occasionally.
  8. Place butter in large bowl; slowly add hot chocolate mixture.
  9. Add vanilla, beating with mixer until blended.
  10. Add chopped nuts, continue beating until fudge loses its gloss and thickens.
  11. Pour into prepared pan; smooth top.
  12. Cool 2 hours.
  13. Use foil handles to remove fudge from pan.
  14. Cut fudge into 30 pieces; garnish each piece with whole nut.
