Apple Cheese Tartlets Recipe
- 2 lrg Granny Smith apples skins on, and thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- 1 Tbsp. unbleached white flour
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 c. shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. unbleached white flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. low-calorie margarine
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg Water as needed
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine the apples with the brown sugar, honey, 1 Tbsp.
- flour, and cinnamon.
- Toss well.
- Divide the apple mix among 6 custard c.. Sprinkle each tart with some cheese.
- Combine 1/2 c. flour, sugar, margarine, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Sprinkle proportionately over the tarts.
- Sprinkle with a little water to moisten.
- Bake till the apples are cooked and the topping is browned, about 20 min.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
